For the reason of provoking and inciting violence, Twitter, Facebook & his other official accounts have been banned by the respective companies. Twitter said the decision was made “after close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account”. Twitter shut down his @TeamTrump campaign account shortly after it sent out a tweet with a “statement from President Trump” accusing Twitter of “banning free speech” and coordinating with “the Democrats and the Radical Left” to silence him. By looking at this Twitter had deleted the regular Tweets tweeted by Trump on the official government account @POTUS.
The company said accounts used by Trump to try to get around the ban could face permanent suspension as well under its “ban evasion” policies.
Many of Trump’s supporters have entered the complex as the US Congress attempted to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. The violence led to the deaths of four civilians and a police officer and which further led to the suspension of his accounts.
In one, he wrote: “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape, or form!!!”
Twitter said this tweet “is being interpreted as a further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an ‘orderly transition'”.
In the next, the president tweeted: “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
Twitter said this was “being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate”.
Twitter said both of these tweets were “in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy”.
Where the president is silent on the matter, son Donald Trump Jr took to Twitter to defend his father and called the platform’s move “absolute insanity.” While his father is banned, “the ayatollah and numerous other dictatorial regimes can have Twitter accounts with no issue despite threatening genocide to entire countries and killing homosexuals, etc,” Trump Jr steamed.
Donald Trump’s tweets were removed from the platform as soon as they were posted. On Thursday, Facebook said it had suspended Mr. Trump “indefinitely”. The popular gaming platform Twitch also placed an indefinite ban on the outgoing president’s channel, which he has used for rally broadcasts.
Mr. Trump took the social media platform, Twitter to insult adversaries, cheer allies, fire officials, deny “fake news” and vent grievances, often using all capital letters and exclamation marks to emphasize his point.
