The Central Government of India took a firm step towards banning Chinese Apps. India has now successfully banned 59 Chinese apps after India and China locked in a border battle where a lot of casualties were witnessed. Its consequences led to announce a crucial move of taking perfect revenge from China. The list of banned apps covers TikTok, SHAREit, UC web browser, Shein, etc alike Chinese products were too among the most used apps in India. While these apps got deleted from Indin Google Play Stores many Indian businesses or startups got an opportunity to shine. Indian alternatives in apps that are directly competing with Chinese apps are as follows : 

Chinese Applications : Tik-Tok / Likee / Bigo Live / Vigo Video 

Video-sharing applications like Tik Tok, Likee, Bigo Live, Vigo Video, etc are prominent among the banned Chinese apps. These media platforms have colonized the Indian internet market place in recent years. 

Tik Tok is the most used Chinese app, which was downloaded over 1.5 billion times on the App Store and Play Store. It has been used by all age groups and people from toddlers to Celebrities.  

 Bigo Live is the second most popular video-editing app in India after TikTok. Bigo Live covers more than 100 countries and is owned by a Nasdaq-listed Chinese company, YY. It is estimated that India accounts for 60 million of its 200 million users worldwide.

Likee is another video-sharing social media platform created by Bigo Technology.

#1 Chingari: Chingari is a short video app that is similar to TikTok. It is available for Android and iOS users in multiple Indian languages. Chingari pays its content creators depending on how popular and viral a video becomes and awards points to them for every video they upload. The app includes various options and features like current news, entertainment, and diverse short videos that can be downloaded and shared further.

#2 Roposo: Roposo is an Indian content sharing and video creation app which is available in more than 10 Indian languages. It offers content on different subjects like comedy, religion, music, and health. It provides channels like Haha TV, Beats, Looks good- Feel good, and Bhakti. Roposo has been downloaded more than 50 million times and has around 65 million Indian users. 

Chinese Applications: Shareit / Xender

These apps are files sharing apps just as Bluetooth used to work. 

Shareit allows users to transfer files including photos, videos, music, contacts, apps, and other files between mobiles and PC, without the use of data for transfer.

Xender is an offline file-sharing and file-transfer app for videos, images, and documents. Developed by Xender Digital Technology in 2011, it has grown to over 100 million downloads worldwide and is popular with Android users.

#1 Shareall: Share all is an Application for Android users that is used to share files. This application is developed by the Indian startup Quantum4u Lab. The users can share files, movies, videos, apps, etc with other Android phones without the use of the internet. Shareall supports secure sharing with password protection and also cleans junk files, cache, and duplicate files.

#2 Z Share: Z Share app is developed by Shravan Hegde from Dharwad, Karnataka, which transfers files like images, videos, and pdfs. It is available for android users and has a rating of 4.9 on the Playstore. It has been downloaded over 100,000 times in just a few days.

Chinese Applications: Uc Browser/ Cm Browser

These apps were popular for being lightweight, and for taking less than 4 Mb of space.

UC Browser is a Chinese application that we have already seen pre-installed in Chinese Phones. It was created by UCWeb, which is owned by the Alibaba Group. It got fame as an alternative to Google Chrome due to its availability on different platforms.

CM Browser is a mobile web browser owned by Cheetah Mobile. It is a Chinese mobile internet company that became well-known for its secure dual-engine browser with a “browser intrusion prevention system”.

#2 Bharat Browser: It is a browser created by the Bengaluru-based startup BlueSky Inventions. The users can discover content from their state, explore online shops, play games and the app also has a dedicated kids section.

Chinese Applications: Shein/Club Factory

These are all fashion and e-commerce platforms that were developed and operated by Chinese companies. You could buy clothes and other stuff online by ordering them.

Shein is a Business to Consumer e-commerce platform that was preparing its operations from India and other countries. 

Club Factory is a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle e-commerce firm. It is owned by Jiayun Data Technology and was popular in India for its discounts and cheap prices.

#1 Myntra: Myntra was founded in 2007 as an Indian fashion e-commerce company but afterward Flipcart purchased its acquisition in 2015. #2 Flipkart: Flipkart was founded in 2007 and is an Indian e-commerce company.
